IBRAHIM Kizito hit a brace to help Mmamba come from a goal down to qualify for its 11th Bika football tournament final.

Mmamba, who first qualified for the final in 1952 where they walked off with the shield, needed the finishing abilities of the veteran to stay in contention at Nakivubo stadium yesterday. The first semifinal meeting had ended in a one-all draw on Monday.

Express forward Hassan Mubiru also closed in on the golden boot by scoring his tenth goal of the tournament.

Kkobe, which gave Mmamba a hard time, got the lead after five minutes courtesy of Tom Nsereko’s strike, but failed to find the rhythm against a determined Mmamba team, eager to end an eight year drought of the shield.

And although Kkobe managed to trouble them, Mmamba’s keeper Ben Lwanga’s stood firm and even punched out Abdu Nsereko’s penalty in the 88th minute to condemn them to the playoff.

Mmamba’s opponent in the final due Saturday will be known after today’s replay of the second semifinal between Lugave, who were also held by Mpologoma on Tuesday. The loser will play Kkobe for third place. The tournament is facilitated by Kobil, Nile Breweries, Tuf Foam, Katumwa Sports Centre, 4R International and Star Photo Studio.
