FUFA general secretary Haruna Mawanda yesterday said he is more than equipped for a looming legal battle against federation comrade Godfrey Kwizera and warned his critic; “I have had enough of you”

“The 10-day ultimatum I was given by Kwizera should be cut to one day because I am ready to produce more than enough evidence that he forged my signature. He should not fool people because he is not clean and he knows it,” said Mawanda.

The two could end up facing each other in court of law for what Kwizera referred to as ‘criminal charges’ in the aftermath of the latest war of words and feud that stretches a couple of years back.

“I had decided to keep quiet about so many things about him but I will have to reveal them. He should either own up and apologise or we get down,” Mawanda said.
The feud has shocked other officials in the federation. One suggested that the two should face a federation disrepute charge if they do not end their public bickering.

Kwizera’s 10-day ultimatum to Mawanda with a legal charge came after the secretary accused the former of forging documents that paved his way to Doha, Qatar for a FIFA Congress last month.

Kwizera however claimed he had become a victim of “unwarranted and personal bullying attacks” by FUFA president Denis Obua and Mawanda.

The row is a major embarrassment for both the federation, slated to hold its annual general assembly soon and the Ugandan football in general.

Senior federation officials are trying to arbitrate the embarrassing rift, which could have repercussions in next year’s FUFA polls.

Mawanda also questioned Kwizera’s ability to represent the league committee on the federation executive and at international level.
