THE procurement sector is experiencing speedy growth despite the fact that it having acquired a bad image for it’s being ridden with corruption, Evarist Mwesigye, a manager at Pricewaterhousecoopers (PWC) has said.

“Appropriate laws, which can arguer the sector into more growth have been put in place,” he said in a statement, adding, “Government has demonstrated willingness to implement the procurement laws and regulations, while the general public and other stakeholders have taken an interest in getting value for money in public procurement.”

PWC is set to hold a procurement breakfast this Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the Grand Imperial Hotel. The purpose of the event is to highlight the importance of procurement in public expenditure management.
