THE Steven Kavuma soccer probe team was yesterday evening reportedly making final touches on their document ahead of their meeting with sports state minister Henry Okello Oryem today.

The probe team was reported compiling their final summary for discussion in the meeting, which will also be attended by National Council of Sports (NCS) - the appointing body - and FUFA.

The agenda could not be accessed neither confirmed but the education ministry public relations officer Aggrey Kibenge said that the probe report will be one of the issues for discussion today.

“Yes, we have invited some members from the team and by the time we leave the meeting, you (the press) will know when the report will be released. People have so much trust in the probe team,” said Kibenge.

Probe committee chairman Kavuma when contacted for a comment was sceptical. He could not confirm whether the report was ready or not.

“We have been doing final touches. I will have to consult my members and meet the appointing body before any announcements are made,” he said.

The committee that has Lt. Col. Albert Kareba, Geoffrey Kihuguru and Patrick Nyaika was set to investigate a public outcry of rot in Uganda’s football.

Meanwhile, FUFA yesterday gave a fresh deadline of Saturday for the probe team to hand in their report, or call for a meeting with the league sponsors to chart the way forward for the 2003/2004 league.
