UGANDA Cricket Association (UCA) will take on former Kenya national captain Tom Tikolo (above) as development manager and national coach next month.

Tikolo has agreed to take over as head coach for the national team and the U-19 team preparing for the World Cup in Bangladesh. He will start work on December 15 after details of his contract have been finalised.

The Kenyan legend will be in charge of cricket development in schools and also promote women cricket. He will be charged with transforming Uganda into a One Day International side, according to UCA chairman Latimer Mukasa.

Vastly experienced Tikolo has been International Cricket Council development officer for East Africa and has a thorough knowledge of Ugandan players.
