The West Indies delayed announcing their line-up until just before the match after fast bowler Jerome Taylor pulled out with a lower back muscle problem.
The five-match series is level at 1-1.
West Indies won the first by 51 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis system when rain stopped play.
And Zimbabwe won the second match with six wickets and 20.2 overs to spare.
