FUFA has threatened to recall the International Transfer Certificate (ITC) issued to Express FC striker David Obua recently

FUFA has threatened to recall the International Transfer Certificate (ITC) issued to Express FC striker David Obua recently, reports Norman Katende.

The star player, currently in Sudan for the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup with Uganda Cranes, is set to join Mauritius Club Associate Sportive 2000.

FUFA secretary Haruna Mawanda yesterday revealed that they had issued the ITC after consulting Express boss Godfrey Kirumira.

Mawanda however said the Express chief was backtracking and distancing himself from the action.

“The boy’s daddy (FUFA boss Obua) asked me to issue the certificate which I did after I consulted Kirumira.

“I could not issue the license without the consent of Express — the owners of the player. But since Kirumira has denied my talking to him, we have to cancel the license,” said Mawanda.

Kirumira, when contacted, challenged FUFA to show them any written proof that they had given them a go ahead.
