Fresh water project due
Rukungiri — Ruhinda Development Forum chairperson Fred Turyamuhweza has said the Government is to construct a gravity water pump at Rwamarengye in Ruhinda sub-county next year. Tumuhairwe said this at the opening of Rwenshaka Credit and Savings Society at the sub-county headquarters recently.

Mengo wants new auditors
KAMPALA — Mengo finance minister Eng. John Baptist Walusimbi has said Kabaka’s government is to get new auditors to replace P.K. Ssengendo and Company Certified Public Accounts. He commended the company for their services for the last five years.

Hawker remanded
KAMPALA — KCC Court remanded Peter Teremwa, 19, a Katanga Market hawker, over hitting a colleague with a bottle, leading him to lose two fingers. Prosecution said he committed the offence in November in Kawempe.

Society nets sh100m
Rukungiri — Nyrushanje Savings and Credit Society in Rubabo has netted sh110m this year in profits, general duties state minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, Prof. Mondo Kagonyera, said at the society’s party recently.

Mbale — A total of 3,900 voters from Bukonde sub-county on Thursday petitioned the Electoral Commission to recall their councillor Kefa Namisi. They accused Namisi of not being a resident.
