Do you remember ever listening to Jabulani Africa that was released in 1993? Well, the South African singer Lionel Petersen whose voice soothed our ears way back in time is set to perform in Kampala on New Year’s eve, reports Denis Jjuuko.
The greatest display of fireworks is what is on offer during the overnight concert.
Petersen, a Zulu gospel singer and minister, will be the guest of Pastor Robert Kayanja at the Rubaga Miracle Cathedral. The show kicks off at 7.00pm.
The song Jabulani Africa (Rejoice Africa) cuts across all religions. It is one gospel song that finds its way in cabarets. The song keeps all music lovers on their feet. To perform along with Petersen is celebrated pianist Adlan Cruz (left) from Puerto Rico, South America.
Cruz was here in October and had the Miracle Cathedral congregation run out of breath with his brilliant pianism. The 35-year-old classical piano maestro has been a concert pianist for over twenty years.
The crew to set them off has been specially flown in from the USA.
Pastor Robert Kayanja will also pray for the nation. The expected 10,000 people will be treated to a BBQ. Ten bulls were donated by a Christian to the cathedral.
