US-based Ugandan Jazz artiste, Omega Bugembe Okello, (whose sound track is featured in the upcoming Luganda Animated Movie, Galiwango; Obulami Bwe Kisodde has been nominated for a National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People (NAACP) Image Award in the category of Outstanding World Music Album for her Kiwomera Ememe album.

Nominees for the 40th NAACP Image Awards were announced January 7, at The Beverly Hilton Hotel. Hosted by Academy Award-winner Halle Berry and acclaimed screenwriter/actor Tyler Perry, both recipients of an NAACP Image Award, the awards broadcast live from Los Angeles’ historic Shrine Auditorium on February 12 On FOX Beverly Hills TV.

Founded on February 12, 1909, NAACP is the US’ oldest and largest civil rights organisation.
