Express FC seeking Cup redemption

EXPRESS SC will take on Mbarara United in the Kakungulu Cup today for a place in the quarter-finals.

The two sides, battling at Mbarara’s Kakyeka stadium, have met before in a Uganda Super League game that ended goalless.

Mbarara will hope to continue their recent good run in the league that saw them pick four points from ties against Nalubaale and Simba.

On the other hand, Express FC are coming off a 1-0 league loss to Boroboro and coach David Otti has some hard work to do to lift his team.

The Kakungulu Cup offers the former holders the only realistic chance of getting a title this season after a dismal display in the league.

Express are in 11th position in the 17-team league contest.

Express will also play a league game against Mbarara on Wednesday and then return to Kampala.

The winner of today’s game will face SC Villa in the last eight, February 14.
