Fourth Gulu University graduation upset me

EDITORâ€"I am disappointed with the way Gulu University organised the 4th graduation.

The entire process reeks of incompetence and inefficiency. How, for instance, would you explain missing results and names in the graduands’ list when the majority of students submitted and met all the requirements for the graduation?

Many students who qualified for graduation had their names omitted from the final graduands’ booklet but had their names included in another list which was not circulated to the students! This has caused a lot of distress to many parents and sponsors who could not trace the names of their sons and daughters in the booklet. With the rampant forgery of transcripts these days, people might doubt that so or so passed simply because their names did not appear in this booklet. Sources within the university have confirmed that there were up to four different lists of graduands.

It is therefore clear that there was either no proper coordination between the academic registrar’s office and faculties due to sheer incompetence and negligence or somebody is simply too lazy to do his or her work!
