THE Lady Cranes will be tested by local junior rugby sides before they fly out to Dubai for the women Sevens World Cup that kicks off March 5.

According to David Mutaka, the Lady Cranes tactician, the team will play MUBS, Boks, G4S Pirates II and end the trials with the U-19 national team.

“We shall use the men shield clubs to test our standards since there are no funds for international trials,” Mutaka said.

“Last week we played Saracens and I’m happy the girls managed to touch the try line twice. These trials against the junior men will enable our girls contain the hard tackles from their experienced opponents in Dubai,” Mutaka added.

Lady Cranes is in pool D of the World Cup with South Africa, Italy and defending champions New Zealand.
