Govt ready to revive Development company

THE Government is to revive the Uganda Development Corporation (UDC), the outgoing trade and industry minister has revealed.

THE Government is to revive the Uganda Development Corporation (UDC), the outgoing trade and industry minister has revealed.
Janat Mukwaya said UDC would be revived to operate as a development arm of the Government.
She said UDC would take over some of the Government’s development projects, especially those of industrial nature after their take-off stage.
Mukwaya said there were some sectors especially those to do with agriculture that investors had failed to develop.
She said some investors only wanted to co-invest with the Government. Mukwaya was on Thursday addressing the media at the Nyaruzinga banana factory under construction in Bushenyi district. The factory is part of the Presidential Initiative on Banana Industrial Development.
