Simba may bite
- SIMBA Unions club of Kenya has threatened to sell off 35 sticks belonging to the Uganda Hockey Association (UHA) to recover a debt of sh5m. The new hockey sticks that cost sh5.2m were donated to UHA by the International Hockey Federation (FIH) immediately after the Olympic qualifiers last year. Simba bailed out UHA when the national team was stranded at the qualifiers in Nairobi and retained the sticks as ‘security’. But UHA has since failed to pay the Kenyans.

Villa prepares to defend FOF title
- SC VILLA are favourites for this year’s Friends of Football veterans gala next month. All veteran players have been called for a meeting at Nakivubo stadium today at 10am to prepare for the event. The Villa veterans usually take part in tournaments like the Kakungulu Cup. However, the annual event, aimed at bringing together retired footballers has no sponsors. Uganda Breweries sponsored last year’s event.
