Dr. Sam Zaramba, the Director General of Health Services, has been appointed to chair the executive board of the World Health Organisation in Geneva, Switzerland.

Dr. Sam Zaramba, the Director General of Health Services, has been appointed to chair the executive board of the World Health Organisation in Geneva, Switzerland.

Zaramba who has been a member of the board from 2008 will head it for two years. The board is made up of 34 countries.

He is the brain behind the Child Days Plus, a programme that emphasises immunisation, improved nutrition and health education. The programme started in 2004 and is run after every six months in April and October.
