A memorial lecture in honour of the late Archbishop Dr. Joseph Nakabaale Kiwanuka will take place at Pope Paul Memorial Hotel in Lubaga today.

A memorial lecture in honour of the late Archbishop Dr. Joseph Nakabaale Kiwanuka will take place at Pope Paul Memorial Hotel in Lubaga today.

A former bishop of Masaka and later archbishop of Lubaga, Kiwanuka, who died in 1966, was the first black African bishop south of the Sahara.

The departed archbishop is remembered for his dynamic and prophetic leadership, which enhanced socio-economic and political development in Uganda.

The lecture will be delivered by the Vice-President, Prof. Gilbert Bukenya.

Tickets are available at Christ the King Church and at Lubaga Cathedral at sh30,000.
