Great Lara coming for Twenty 20

CRICKET great Brian Lara will grace the 2009 NCR Twenty20 tournament which will be held June 6 and 7 at Kyambogo and Lugogo. The legendary batsman is scheduled to visit Uganda on ambassadorial duty but will honour the event.

CRICKET great Brian Lara will grace the 2009 NCR Twenty20 tournament which will be held June 6 and 7 at Kyambogo and Lugogo. The legendary batsman is scheduled to visit Uganda on ambassadorial duty but will honour the event.
The tournament founder and director Sangiv Patel said the sponsors NCR were pleased with the success of the inaugural event last year and have vowed to increase support.
“NCR have pledged that if the organisation and development of the event improves, they will again offer support,†he said. The tournament format will be similar to last year’s with two new community teams, United Arab Emirates and Trinidad and Tobago, added.
England, India, Pakistan, South Africa, Uganda and East Africa are the other teams.
