<b>Chief appoints former MP</b> <br>GULU - The Rwot (chief) of the Puranga Clan in Acholi, Jimmy Ocan-Luwala, has appointed the former Omoro county and East African MP, Abosolom Abenego-Ongom, as chairman of the Puranga Traditional Chiefs’ Council.

GULU - The Rwot (chief) of the Puranga Clan in Acholi, Jimmy Ocan-Luwala, has appointed the former Omoro county and East African MP, Abosolom Abenego-Ongom, as chairman of the Puranga Traditional Chiefs’ Council. Ocan-Luwala announced the appointment during a meeting at Acet in Odek sub-county recently. “We should unite and restore the glory of the clan,” he said.

Mayor invites investors

LIRA - The mayor, Peter Owiny Guduzu, has called upon investors to take advantage of the vast land in the area to set up industries. Speaking at the opening of K-Zone International, a recreation centre, recently, Owiny also said the municipality would lobby for a city status. “This is one of the biggest investments, the door is open for other investors,” Guduzu said.
