The count-down to Uganda’s make or break June 13 rugby World Cup qualifier against Tunisia has started with the arrival of ex South African winger Chester Williams.

Williams flew in last night to take over as Cranes coach for a second time. He is expected to be introduced to the Cranes team today and given charge of a complicated two-legged semi-final.

“It’s a tough semi-final against Tunisia,” newly-elected Uganda Rugby Union chairman William Blick’s said last week.

“They are ranked higher than us so it will be tough but Uganda has always beaten bigger teams as it was with Namibia. So I believe we can beat them.”

Blick stressed that it is in boosting the “psychological” strength of the team that William will be critical.
Williams is currently coaching Emerging Boks, South Africa’s A side.
