COACH Charles ‘Mbuzi’ Ayiekho on Thursday night survived being lynched by residents of Lira town over sodomy allegations.

Residents threatened to beat up the official after he was accused of being too friendly to David Doii and Isaac Omara, workers at Fortress Guest House.

Ayiekho, formerly Police FC coach and now with Horizon, was saved by Simba FC tactician Sam Ssimbwa.

“He (Ayiekho) kept telling us that we looked good to him. He was caressing us and wanted to kiss,” the boys told the press. Ayiekho dismissed the claim saying that the boys wanted to extort money from him.

Ssimbwa, who is also in Lira to scout talent at the ongoing MTN Inter-Regions soccer tournament, said he intervened because he knew Ayiekho.

“He was on his knees pleading with them (the boys). They told me Mbuzi wanted to sleep with them and they were angry. It is not the first time I have saved him," noted Simba coach Ssimbwa.

"It happened in Rwanda. I don’t know what would have happened.”
