STEVEN Omony led the Falcons into their mid-season recess with a man-of-the-match performance against the KCC Lions at YMCA on Saturday.

The player-coach dropped a game-high 16 points in addition to dictating the tempo at Falcons won 76-36 in what was always expected to be an MTN-FUBA League mismatch.

Team-mates Sunday Okot and Peter Elungat chipped in with 13 and 11 points respectively to help the record men’s national champions end the first round with seven wins in nine matches.

It may or may not be of concern to second-placed Falcons that their two losses came against table leaders DMark Power and the Kyambogo Warriors.

The defeats could either mean the two clubs are genuinely stronger than the Falcons or they may be nothing more than routine regular-season results.

For the Lions, meanwhile, there is need to be concerned about their string of results, which now stands at one win in eight.
