ANDREW Gitta will lead a five-man Uganda Table Tennis Association interim team to redirect activities of the association.

The committee was nominated at Saturday’s extra ordinary assembly at Lugogo which forced out the Emmanuel Matsyetsye led executive.

The committee has Gitta, Wilberforce Kayongyo, David Akena, David Yisa and Amina Lukaaya.

The committee will review the constitution and draw a road map to elections.

Gitta, a former national table tennis player and a member of the Lugogo club, was appointed the head of the team yesterday.

“We are meeting tomorrow to review what awaits us and also seek a the way forward,” said Akena.

Gitta promised to take care of the costs of the legal expert to help write the constitution ahead of the September 19 assembly.

Saturday’s extra ordinary assembly that was guided by National Council of Sports general secretary Jasper Aligawesa, used the power vested in them by the current constitution to halt the current executive.
