UGANDA’S lone representative at the on-going World boxing Championship takes on Englishman Thomas Stubbs tomorrow without a coach.

Cuban coach Jimenez Gonzalez failed to link up with his fighter after local amateur boxing governing body UABF failed to raise funds.

Serugo, who is sponsored by world boxing body AIBA, has been relying on Lesotho coach Leonard Moekepsi for tips.

“He is doing well. His sparring has been impressive and he has also kept within the required weight,” said Moekepsi from Milan.

Gonzalez might not be in Milan but he has maintained touch with his fighter. “I have advised him to remain focused,” explained the Cuban.

Gonzalez has also advised his boxer to seek guidance from fellow Cuban Roberto Ibanes should Moekepsi be busy. Ibanes is Ghana coach.
