IF you want to enjoy a hash experience, never go with seemingly new shoes. Deolitte and Touche Managing Partner George Opio found out a little belatedly when their form sponsored the Kampala Hash House Harriers run number 1333 that set off at Prestige Apartments.

Even as main sponsor of the Hash last Monday, he was moments from sipping from his ‘new ‘shoes as is a norm with hashers until he said: “I swear these are not new shoes. I’m simply a neat fellow. ” He was let off the hook.

An hour later when the hashing party returned, Opio was beaming and must have been immersed in the hashing culture as he run around Kampala.

It certainly was not because of the heads of curious on-lookers or his chat former ethics and integrity minister Tim Lwanga, which changed his countenance.

“Hashing has its share of special moments. It is a carefree, spontaneous organisation that has brought me lots of fun. I wouldn’t mind sponsoring the next hash,” he declared.

As beer filled many bellies, Opio confessed there was more to mixing with interesting people from all walks of life.
