KAMPALA - Politicians should not interfere with the appointment of the board of directors in church-founded schools, clerics have said. Dr. Silvester Arinaitwe, the Uganda Joint Christian Council secretary, said the meddling prevented head teachers from taking quick decisions in the management of schools. He was briefing journalists about the outcome of the diocesan education secretaries’ workshop held at Pope Paul Memorial Hotel in Kampala recently.

Engineers to get tough laws

KAMPALA - The Uganda Institute of Professional Engineers will soon implement stringent conditions for licensing new members in order to reduce incidents of engineering mistakes, the institute president, Ananiah Mbabazi, has said. He was recently speaking at the launch of the Ndejje University Engineering Students Association.
