STILL basking in the glory of capturing a rugby league and cup double, MTN Heathens coach Brian Power has had his pleasure cut short.

Power, the man who took the hot spot at the Heathens bench mid-season and led the Kyadondo side to the Super 8 League and Uganda Cup, success has been fired.

The South African was sacked on Monday following what has been described as an ‘embarrassing and nasty' burst up with coach/player Peter Magona last week.

Inside sources told The New Vision that the club’s executive committee comprising of chairman Jonathan Kamukama, secretary Jeroline Akubu and executive members –– Roger Sebina, David Case, Andrew Owori and Christine Kizito resolved to serve the coach with a dismissal letter.

On Tuesday, Power handed over the club belongings but some executive members felt he was unfairly ‘red carded'

“Yes, they clashed and there were insults. But what annoyed me most is that Power was not given a chance to defend himself," a club member who preferred anonymity said.

Power, who has been running one of the bars at the crowd-pulling Kyadondo club, was shown the exit on the business front as well.

However, all the club officials were cagey.

“I can’t comment on those issues now but I will get to you later since I have few things to sort out,” Kamukama explained.

Efforts to get a comment from Power were futile.
