UGANDA’S top tennis player Duncan Mugabe has risen to 681 in the latest rankings released last week by the world professional tennis association.

It is the highest rank Mugabe has climbed to since turning professional last year. He has bagged 17 points this year by competing in the East African ITF/Futures circuit compared to 14 last year.

He gained five extra points when he reached the semi-finals in Burundi and another two for the quarterfinal. He slipped in the Kampala where he was a second round loser thereby gaining just a point.

However, he garnered nine points from the Kenya F1 where he reached his maiden final as a professional. He was at 769 in the last world ranking.
