SOCCER - Kenneth Mushabe and Dan Alach struck as Lumumba beat holders Livingstone 2-0 victory to win the soccer event of the Makerere University Inter-hall tournament yesterday. The success also handed the new champions their first trophy in five years. Meanwhile, this year’s University Games will be held December 18-23 at Nkumba.

NETBALL - National Insurance Corporation (NIC) maintained their unbeaten run with a 70-7 humiliation of Kamwokya-based TLC in the national netball league at Nakivubo on Wednesday. Team captain Betty Namukasa and Sarah Nakitende were the key architects of the winners who built a 37-5 half- time lead.NIC stepped up gear in the second half to win comfortably.

Gesa leads Oasis entries

CYCLING - Over20 cyclists have entered a race organised by Oasis of life club in Jinja on Sunday. Eastern Uganda Cycling club secretary Charles Okello said yesterday that the 81km event will be used to select a team to represent Oasis club in Tour de Rwanda race due November 16-24. National champion Asuman Gesa leads the entrants for Sunday’s race. Entries are still open.
