MBALE-Local governments have been urged to build the capacity of their staff in data collection and management for effective planning. Male Mukasa, the executive director of the Uganda Bureau of Statistics, said the success of government policies depends on the use of up-to-date and reliable information for planning and evaluation. Mukasa issued the advice at a workshop held at the Islamic University in Uganda last Friday.
UPCs Ochieno tips on politics
TORORO-Politics is a competition of ideas and not enmity, a UPC official has said. Joseph Ochieno, the Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) presidential hopeful, challenged political parties to present their ideas for the electorate to judge. Ochieno was speaking during the party recruitment drive in the district last week.
