Edwin Phillip Mugisha is confident he will perform well in the World Scrabble Championships (WSC) that start tomorrow in Malaysia. â€œI have all the confidence and I promise to return with the title,â€ Mugisha said while leaving for Kuala Lumpur yesterday. The winner in the event will earn $15,000 (sh28m) and other prizes are spread up to the 15th that will pick $800 (sh1.4m).
- Over 50 pre-teen children will benefit from the training skills of former Wanyange captain Mohammed Masiko at a training camp that started last weekend. Jinjaâ€™s division one league side Wanyange United officials said the purpose of the academy is to help feed their senior side with players and also tap talent for other teams and the national junior sides.
Bwaise ejects Saints in Eid tie
- Bwaise knocked Kirokole All Saints FC out of the City Tyres sponsored Eid Adhua Cup in Kawempe. Abdul Karim Kabenge â€œBurstâ€ scored the all-important goal for Bwaise who edged last yearâ€™s winners 1-0 as the tournament kicked off at Kazo sports ground on Saturday. Bwaise will now play Kawempe in the semifinals to be played over two legs starting today. Kawempe were 3-0 winners over Nabweru. The final is due on Friday at Kazo.
