UGANDA Super League referees have not been paid for over six months after their payment lists were destroyed by a computer virus, an official has admitted.

Joseph Wanzusi reports that FUFA referees standing committee secretary Yusuf Kamulegeya confirmed that referees were owed millions of shillings, but said the finance committee would soon clear the arrears. Referees claim FUFA owes them over sh20m.

“I am aware about the arrears and I apologise for the delay in processing payment,” Kamulegeya said on phone.

He assured the referees that their allowances are to be settled within the next one week.

The sh20m owed is for travel, officiating fees and accommodation allowance arrears.
