Priest cleared of murder charges

THE Police have released Fr. Paul Kaberuka of Naruzari Parish in Masaka Diocese, who was arrested in connection with the murder of a 17-year-old boy killed by a mob.

THE Police have released Fr. Paul Kaberuka of Naruzari Parish in Masaka Diocese, who was arrested in connection with the murder of a 17-year-old boy killed by a mob, reports Dismus Buregyeya.

Pascal Mutagubya, a resident of Naruzari in Buwunga sub-county Masaka district, was beaten up and burnt to death for allegedly stealing sh600,000 from the parish offices.

The district criminal investigations department chief, Stephen Etyang, yesterday said Kaberuka was released on Police bond on Wednesday after information that he did not participate in the mob justice.

The other suspects, identified as Vincent Mbugga, Mutebu Bakka and Maria Rose Nakamatte, are still detained.
