EDITOR — I wish to react to Awel Unihanyanye’s letter entitled, “You got it wrong on Kyambadde†published recently. Amelia Kyambadde, like any other Ugandan, has a right to vote and to be voted. It does not matter whether Tetea Uganda was contracted or not, whether the event was to launch a community- based organisation aimed at spearheading socio-economic transformation of Mpigi district.
Competing for an MP seat is not a crime and cannot be a secret. It is in fact a sign that the people of Mawokota North have seen leadership qualities in Kyambadde. I disagree with Unihanyanye. The headline did not undermine the event but only opened the eyes of our leaders to lobby and work for the wanainchi, which Kyambadde has done.
To deny that she is going to stand is what the Banyonkore call “refusing to sleep so as not to dreamâ€. Let Tetea continue with its contract but Mawokota politics is already on course.
