Ask the doctor with Dr. Paul Semugoma

Dear doctor,

I had a miscarriage three months ago and used contraception for three months. I then started getting stomach pains and on testing I was told I was pregnant. Later, I got painful periods. Is it possible to have periods when pregnant?
Annette.

Dear Annette,

Bleeding later in pregnancy needs immediate management as it may be life- threatening. You need to inform your doctor about it.

If you need to change family planning methods, ask for an alternative.

Painful sex during pregnancy is common, though
