ST. Balikudembe Market produce traders have formed a savings, credit co-operative society (SACCO) to help them save their daily earnings.

John Kivumbi, the chairman St. Balikundembe Market produce traders and vendors Association, said the SACCO would also help in the re-development of the market.

“We want to develop the market as cooperators.

“This is the only way we can be accountable for whatever is done during the re-development process.”

He added that the SACCO has 200 members and had been registered.
Kivumbi said the SACCO would be an avenue for personal development.

“The environment in which we operate is changing rapidly.

“Therefore, we need to find a way through which members will be able to meet their future financial needs,” he said.

“We provide competitive financial services for the economic and social well-being of the members through savings, credit facilities and investments,” Kivumbi added.
