Nakasero first in totos’ league
- The Uganda Taekwondo Federation (UTF) has introduced the U-12 league which has attracted Nakasero Primary School as the first team to register. The league, replacing the Kampala International Taekwondo League, has also been listed on the UTF calander released this week. Organisers are optimistic more teams will join the league. Nakasero pupils have started taking lessons under instructor Andrew Mugisha.

Lira club gets rugby gear
- A Lira-based rugby club has received 20 sets of uniforms and two balls all worth sh1.3m. Northern region development officer Andrew Erach handed over the kit to the club at Akii Bua stadium on Tuesday. Erach asked the club to take advantage of a the move by the Uganda Rugby Union to spread the sport to the region by intensifying training.

Tukire fights for top spot at trials
- Wilson Tukire will be out to keep his top position during the one-day national badminton trials set for today at Lugogo indoor stadium. The open competition for the men and women starts at 9am. Tukire, who was top seed for the whole of last year, will face a new crop of youngsters including Brian Suuna and Ronald Kaserenge in the battle for supremacy among the local men’s players.
