THE State Minister for Luweero Triangle, Nyombi Tembo, has advised the people of Nakaseke to boost agricultural production in order to utilise the Matugga-Semuto road which is being tarmacked.

He said the Government would be disappointed if residents did not take advantage of the sh41b project that will improve access to the city.

“This road is not meant for transporting propaganda, but plenty of foodstuffs which you should start growing,” Nyombi said on Sunday.

He was touring Semuto and Kapeeka sub-counties and said the Government had silenced detractors by implementing the project.

“Now that the road is here, they will have nothing to talk about,” he said.
The two-year project will see the 41km of murrum, transformed into a class C gravel road.

The China Tonguing International Construction Corporation is constructing the road together with the Nordic Development Fund.

The road is expected to be completed in August 2010.

Tembo also said the Government would build the health centre which President Yoweri Museveni had promised during his campaigns.

He said gratuity packages for the civilian veterans would be paid over a period of three years.

Nyombi added that the Government was determined to implement the Luweero-Rwenzori development plan to develop the former Luweero Triangle.
