A programme to fight illegal drug shops has began in the district. The programme, Accredited Drug Dispensing Outlet, will help the public to get genuine drugs. Azizi Maija, the senior programme associate, said: “This programme targets changing the attitude of the public in self-medication.” Maija was recently addressing drug shop operators and owners. He said the programme was in partnering with the National Drug Authority and the health ministry.

Police drunks get warning
KABAROLE
Police officers in the district have been warned against reporting for duty while drunk. Commander Vincent Iraama, said he would not tolerate officers who took alcohol and kept dosing at work. “When you take alcohol, it makes you a nuisance,” he said. Iraama was addressing Police officers at Fort Portal barracks on Thursday.
