Akena was a participant at the Uganda Peoples Congress party 2011 resource mobilisation workshop organised by the International Republican Institute at Kumi Hotel. There was confusion at the hotel when most of the participants abandoned the workshop to watch the MP riding his ‘waragi bicycle’. A resident, John Okurut, said the MP should have offered the waragi to the residents to drink instead of wasting it on powering a bicycle which can run on muscle power.
