Grandpa attempts suicide over fiance

An elderly woman, only identified as Akumu, a resident of Bobi village in Gulu district, surprised people when she attempted to commit suicide over her grandson’s mzungu fiancé.

An elderly woman, only identified as Akumu, a resident of Bobi village in Gulu district, surprised people when she attempted to commit suicide over her grandson’s mzungu fiancé.
It is said her grandson had visited her to introduce her to the elders before the wedding.
However, all did not go well as Akumu wept and lamented bitterly, rejecting the mzungu.
She claimed it was an abomination for their grandchildren to have traces of wazungu blood and her ancestors would not be amused.
When Akumu’s cry fell on deaf ears, she sneaked with a rope to a nearby bush to hang herself. It took the effort of vigilant and energetic youth to restrain her before she fulfiled her mission.
The mzungu was left in confusion as she could not understand what was going on due to language barrier.
However, the wedding preparations are still on.
