MTN/FUBA league champions Power Basketball Club has signed rugby star Allan Musoke and also secured a sh76m sponsorship deal with Dmark Mobile.

The team, sponsored by Sadolin Paint for the past five years, will change name to Dmark Power Basketball Club.

Musoke, 28, who features for uganda telecom Kobs in the local rugby league played for the reigning champions from 1996-1999. No details of the deal were revealed.

“We have brought Musoke as a way of marketing Power. He will be training with us twice a week while spending the other time at rugby,” technical director Peter Mubanda explained.

“He was once a basketball player with us and still has the skills so he will find it easy to catch up. I am confident he can be among the best players this season.

On his part Musoke said: “I want to bring togetherness in Power. If you watched the play-offs each of the players were having an individual game.”
