CENTENARY Bank has contributed sh10m towards the reconstruction of Owino’s Park Yard Market, which was gutted by fire last week.

The contribution was handed over by Cardinal Emmanuel Wamala.

“The bank and the Catholic Church commiserate with the traders of Park Yard who lost their merchandise in the inferno,” Wamala said, adding that the bank had many customers who lost their goods.

“The bank is going to set up a desk at the Nakivubo branch opposite St. Balikuddembe Market to advise the affected customers on how to effectively manage their loans and devise ways to enable them rebuild their businesses and lives,” he added.

The bank’s board chairman, Ssentamu Ddumba, said: “We shall pay directly to the supplier of the materials the Park Yard management decides to deal with. We pray that the Lord comforts you and gives you the energy to begin afresh.”
