THREE students sustained minor injuries and property worth millions of shillings was destroyed when fire gutted a boy’s dormitory at Kings Way High School yesterday.

One boy got cuts on his hand and two others were treated for severe smoke inhalation after being rushed to the nearby Nalubugu Clinic.

By press time, they had been discharged.

The Police and school authorities declined to name the students, saying they had not yet been identified.

The school director, Frank Muramura, said school personnel swung into action and put out the fire before it could spread to other dormitories.

Muramura said it took about 20 minutes to extinguish the fire using 24 fire extinguishers that the school recently installed.

The Police fire brigade from Kampala arrived at the scene shortly after.

The school is a kilometre away from Entebbe Road in Kitende, Wakiso district.

The Police said the fire started at 11:30am. They, however, said they had not yet established the cause.

“It is still complicated, but we will follow all the leads,” said the Kajjansi division Police commander, Steven Kalembe.

By press time, the rescued property was scattered in the compound.
