KHADAR Investments Ltd, the developer of the multi-billion Nakumatt Oasis hypermarket complex in Kampala, has denied encroaching on the Kitante Golf Course land.

Amina Hersi, the managing director, told reporters in Kampala on Wednesday that no land was trespassed when an access road to the mall was constructed.

Hersi said the development on the land adjacent to the golf course was legally-binding.

“We are working on a legally-binding agreement which we signed with Kampala City Council in March to build an access road to our new mall,” Hersi explained.

Hersi said Peter Katebalirwa, the city chief town planner, cleared the road construction.

She added that the development on the land had preserved the interests of golfers and other stakeholders.

President Yoweri Museveni is expected to open the mall to the public this month.
