The Police have stepped up patrols on River Rwizi. South-western regional Police publicist Polly Namaye said the operation followed reports of people disappearing mysteriously and their bodies being dumped in the river.
This comes at a time when Hilda Namagembe, a resident of Ruti in Nyamitanga Division, reported to the Police the disappearance of her husband, Monday Arinaitwe, on April 2. “His whereabouts are not yet known and we are appealing to the public to be careful. The Police are receiving information from swimmers that they see dead bodies in the river,†Namaye added.
