EDITOR—The Government intends to release money to schools to start ‘patriotism clubs’. Patriotism is more than starting clubs in schools.
EDITOR—The Government intends to release money to schools to start ‘patriotism clubs’. Patriotism is more than starting clubs in schools.
It is love for one’s country, to support, serve, and defend and to change it for the better. It is to care deeply for its citizens. When citizens pay taxes, their money should not end up in the pockets of a chosen few.
Roads should not go unrepaired because money has been embezzled by those supposed to protect it.
Hospitals should have drugs and pupils should not study under trees. Government policies should be pro-people and people should be paid reasonable wages.
It is patriotism to accept constructive criticism.
Patriotism means to stand by the country. It does not mean to stand by the President or any other public officials regardless of whether they are right or wrong. It is unpatriotic for politicians to tell lies.
