NTUNGAMO
A housewife, Loyce Tusasiirwe, 24, has been sentenced to five years in jail for kidnapping a four-year-old child, Nuwemanzi Mutamba, with intent to sacrifice him. She will serve her sentence at Ntungamo Prison. Grade One magistrate Lillian Bucyana said sufficient evidence pinned the culprit. “This will be a lesson to her and others who practice such acts,” Bucyana said.

Patients get eye surgery

Over 100 People suffering from cataract received free eye surgery at Ruharo Eye Centre. This was during a one-week eye camp supported by the Christian Blind Mission, a Germany-based organisation and Ankole Diocese. The Cataract disease makes the lens opaque, resulting into blindness. An official, Richard Womugasho, on Tuesday said: “We expect the number of patients to increase to 200.”
