THE national Sevens team left yesterday for the Confederation of Africa Rugby Tangier 7s scheduled for Friday and Saturday in Morocco.
The 14-man squad is led by coach Ronnie Lutakome and manger Jude Okello. The team is sponsored by uganda telecom and insurance company UAP.
Uganda won a Plate Cup in 2007, the last time they took part. Lutakome is confident of winning something again.
“We are not going to participate but to compete and we regard all teams equally,†Lutaakome said.
The squad: T. Kabonero, A.Otim, D.Chonowira, B.Asaba, C. Lubanga, A.Kamanyire, M.Wokorach, K. Benon, B.Kikawa, L.Wakabi, O. Kalyango and B. Jonathan Onen. Officials: T. Benjamin (physiotherapist), Lutakome (coach) and Okello (manager).
