THE hearing of a murder case against a retired soldier, Lt. Ramadhan Magara, who allegedly shot dead two FDC party supporters, starts tomorrow.

Acting Justice John Wilson Kwesiga of the High Court, currently presiding over a criminal session of 30 other cases, will preside ovre the case.

According to sources from the state prosecution department, several witnesses including ballistics experts, would be called to give evidence.

It is alleged that on February 15, 2006 during the presidential election campaigns, Magara stormed into a crowd of FDC supporters outside Bulange (Buganda Parliament).
The crowd was waiting for Dr. Kizza Besigye, the party president, to address them.

It is also alleged that Magara was blocked by the crowd from driving into Bulange and in the ensuing argument, an unknown person stoned the windscreen of Magara’s vehicle.
He was at the time attached to the office of the resident district commissioner for Rubaga.

An infuriated Magara came out of his car and started shooting indiscriminately into the crowd, killing Vincent Kawuma and Gideon Makabayi, it is said.

A third victim, Haruna Byamukama was paralysed.
